This project was a web design project where I reimagined what the Sun Bum Original SPF 30 Sunscreen Lotion branding could look like. What excited me most of taking on this project, was getting to combine my photography and design abilities, and have control over every aspect of the project from start to finish.

SUN BUM LANDING PAGES, WEB ADS, & SOCIAL GRAPHICS

Step 1 - Photography:

To begin this web design project, I left my computer and got my hands dirty in the sand. For such an iconic summer product, I knew this sunscreen needed some strong product imagery that captured the feel of summer. I shot on the sunscreen on the beach in San Diego, which is also the hometown to Sun Bum headquarters. After my shoot came the challenge of editing the photo gallery. I wanted to the imagery to be consistent in style to Sun Bum’s brand, so I worked until I was fully satisfied with the coloring of the images.

Step 2 - Web Ads:

The next step in this project was to create web ads in all sizes that would be needed to draw viewers to the sunscreen’s landing page where buyers could purchase. The ads must be created in many sizes as different websites offer different web ad sizes to fit the format of their website. The challenge is taking the same content and fitting it in a variety of formats.

Step 3 - Social Ads:

After web ads were complete, I got working on social ads! These ads would be used on platforms like Instagram, that require different sizing for Instagram stories/ reel covers than posts.

Step 4 - Email Design:

Once the web and social ads were complete, I created one more way to drive traffic to the Sun Bum sunscreen landing page- email design! I designed an email to advertise the original sunscreen, highlight some of its key features, and most importantly, drive traffic to the landing page.

Step 5 - Landing Pages:

Last, but certainly not least, I reimagined the Sunbum Original Sunscreen landing page!! I created a desktop and mobile version product page, highlighting all of the key features, while allowing customers the ability to purchase the product. Not only did I want to highlight what makes the product special in the descriptions, but I created illustrations and used the product photography to create imagery as inviting and exciting as the sunscreen itself.

*Note: the descriptions of the product, ingredient list, and other body copy are from Sun Bum directly and not my own.
